Movement for National Renewal (MNR)
Vision
A just, disciplined, and united Zambia where every citizen lives by the Constitution and upholds the rule of law.
Mission
To awaken the conscience of the nation and mobilise one million (1,000,000) Zambians committed to moral, civic, and institutional renewal by 31 December 2025.
Purpose
The Movement for National Renewal was founded by John Peter Sangwa, SC on 12th October, 2025 as part of a broader call to national reflection. Its purpose is for citizens to organise themselves into renewal structures that will, in time, evolve into political institutions for a new and accountable Zambia. The movement also lays the groundwork for citizens to participate meaningfully and responsibly in the democratic process leading up to the 2026 general election and beyond.
Mandate
For Zambian citizens of goodwill to take up their civic responsibility through grassroots mobilisation, creating a strong movement that ensures every citizen has a voice in shaping the country’s democratic future and holding leaders accountable.
Core Values
* Integrity - Honesty in word and action * Discipline - Responsibility in work and leadership * Accountability - Transparency in public and private life * Unity - Beyond tribe, region, or party * Patriotism - Service to Zambia above self
Our Commitment and Status
This is a civic movement, not a political party. Inspired by Article 43 of the Zambian Constitution, we are committed to active civic responsibility and nation-building. Only when we transform ourselves can we truly renew our nation.
Once MNR reaches one million citizens through a broad consultation process, we will determine whether to evolve into a formal political organisation.
